Letters, 1814 August to November, to his father, Captain Mitchell Robertson, Overall's Mills, Shenandoah County, Va., concern Robertson's service as surgeon during the War of 1812. One letter, 1814 September 17, briefly describes the bombardment of Ft. McHenry. Letters, 1831-1839, Richmond, Va., to his wife Elizabeth Robertson, Luray, Page County, Va., while he served in various sessions of the General Assembly, occasionally mention his legislative work but chiefly discuss family news. One letter, 1833 December 29, describes his first train ride on a Petersburg to North Carolina railroad.
